Download. |
December 7, 2004 Can anyone tell me why the hell I only activated "temp00", the pre-defined temporary REU file, after first use? No one confused when always being forced to input this weird filename at first use? ;-) Well, I changed that. From now on, the file Temp gets activated automatically. I had to perform a little operation on GoDot's launching file for that, which thusly "grew" to version 1.33. Download. |

November 8, 2004 In a diskussion on comp.sys.cbm I realized that hardly anybody is aware that GoDot supports the brothers of the C64, the Plus4 series computers (among them C16 and C116). So I made up my mind and assembled a special "Plus4 Support Disk". All those modules and other additional programs we built for Plus4 users can be found on it, as well as some pictures to play around with. On the left, you can admire three of these in their full Plus4 splendor. On a Plus4 screen, they will look just the same as you can see them here. Friends of the Plus4, you will be raving! ;-) As a supplement, I have uploaded a Plus4 disk full of (GoDot) images, which I won a Plus4 graphics contest in Berlin with a long time ago. All these images can be viewed directly on your Plus4 with my program "Magica", which too can be found on the Plus4 Support Disk. Have fun! |

August 25, 2004 During work on UCUGA workshop article #11 (which concentrates on moving and turning parts of the image) I had some useful ideas which I instantly built into the corresponding modules. A whole of 5 modules have been enhanced: svr.4BitClip - I noticed that the name of the temporary REU file ("temp00") was indeed accepted but not displayed. Remedied now. mod.Flip&Mirror - Even two handy novelties: First, now you can deny whether the clip settings get shifted along with it when the full image gets turned. Second, from now on you can instantly look at what the module worked in memory! You just click te preview window on main screen! mod.Double - I found this previewing feature so great that I instantaneously added it to mod.Double, too. mod.ApplyDither - This module carried an old bug which led to false colors on reducing. Particularly with the reduction to 5 colors (which I use frequently), it was pretty tedious to mending the results each time. Bug fixed! ldr.4Bit&Mask - This loader, too, is now capable of previewing the result of the loading process. Very handy, you can instantly see whether you loaded the correct image! |
August 17, 2004 GoDot is the winner! GoDot was awarded the first prize in Gaelyne Gasson's Homestead Advert Contest for the Homestead Central Market website! The Ads document (size 640x800 pixels) was entirely created and produced on a C64 using GoDot. It consists of eight single screens and was transferred to Gaelyne in EPS format (Encapsulated PostScript) which GoDot is certainly capable of. I'm pretty proud of GoDot! :-) |

August 11, 2004 Finally a brand new modifier! Mod.Double enables you to scale up one quadrant of the GoDot image in memory (160x100 pixels), exactly and in correct aspect ratio. There are four fixed areas to click (the four quadrants). If you want to scale a different part of the image, you have to scroll it to the location of one of these quadrants (using mod.Scroll). |

August 4th, 2004: Great news! I finally managed to combine GoDot and the famous JuddPEG-Viewer (JPZ) to let GoDot act like a GUI to JPZ! I proudly present: ldr.JPGViewer With this loader GoDot is now able to recognize and read JPG images and display them (in IFLI mode)! Comfortably as always, you click JPGs with your mouse, type in the indent values if you like, and here we go. Once loaded, an image can be displayed in IFLI as many times as you like. You can also convert the loaded JPG to 4Bit if you want. For this purpose you can use an additional modifier: mod.ConvertJPG Look at the two GIF images on this page, they honestly come out of my C64 without further ado! (To be able to view them online I have saved GoDot's 4Bit as GIFs, using GoDot's svr.GIF.) Adrian Gonzales' renderer (and of course Steve Judd's loader as well) is just breath-taking! Hey, how does that actually work? JPZ itself takes the entire C64 memory space and GoDot either! The two of them won't fit in one single computer by no means! Right. That wouldn't work. Never. My loader boosts one C64 to be a double C64. Everything you need for this is an REU. GoDot will then control the switching of the two virtual C64 machines. Commodores! Download here. |

May 7th, 2004: To have updated material for the UCUGA Digest workshop series I reworked the four available font sets of GoDot. Now the name of an individual character tells you the kerning size they have (you can read the actual pixel width of that character). Thus, you can gather headlines much easier. Additionally, I also enhanced the view of many of the single characters. Below you can see some examples of what to magically produce from these font sets. Download here.

January 2004: Webspace ran low on godot64.de, maybe some of you have noticed that because I had to delete some larger files (two D64s). I have expanded to 25 MB now, so the two disks could go online again. Everythings well! Have
